About WROA

Welfare & Relief Organization for Afghanistan — Serving communities since 2010

Who We Are

WROA (Welfare & Relief Organization for Afghanistan) is a national, non-governmental, non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable communities across Afghanistan. Established in 2010, we have been working tirelessly to provide humanitarian assistance, sustainable development programs, and emergency relief to those who need it most.

Our Approach

Our organization is Afghan-led and community-focused, with a deep understanding of the local context, culture, and challenges. We believe that sustainable change comes from within communities, which is why we work hand-in-hand with local leaders, families, and individuals to identify needs and implement solutions that create lasting impact. Every program we design is developed in consultation with the communities we serve, ensuring that our interventions are relevant, culturally appropriate, and truly responsive to local priorities.

Our Reach

With a dedicated team of over 250 Afghan professionals, we operate across 12 provinces, delivering essential services in education, healthcare, food security, women's empowerment, livelihood development, and emergency response. Our staff are recruited locally, bringing invaluable knowledge of their communities and ensuring that our programs are implemented with cultural sensitivity and effectiveness. We have successfully reached hundreds of thousands of beneficiaries through our various initiatives since our founding.

Our Commitment

At WROA, we are committed to transparency, accountability, and the highest standards of humanitarian principles. We believe that every individual — regardless of gender, ethnicity, or background — deserves access to quality education, adequate healthcare, economic opportunities, and the chance to live with dignity, peace, and hope for a brighter future. We work tirelessly to uphold these values in every aspect of our work, from our headquarters to the most remote villages we serve.

Our Core Values

The principles that guide our work include Integrity — operating with honesty and ethical conduct at all times; Transparency — maintaining open communication with stakeholders and beneficiaries; Community Participation — ensuring local voices shape our programs; Gender Equality — promoting equal opportunities for women and girls; Sustainability — building solutions that last; Accountability — taking responsibility for our actions and outcomes; and Respect for Human Dignity — treating every individual with compassion and respect.
